PropCompare helps you compare properties in Ahmedabad and Gujarat side by side. This page says what we collect about you when you use it, in plain terms.
This page is a working draft. Items marked “To be confirmed” are waiting for a decision or a legal review and will be completed before the site opens to the public.
PropCompare is operated by [To be confirmed: legal name of the operator], of [To be confirmed: registered address]. In this policy, “we” means that operator.
You can read the property pages without giving us anything. We ask for a phone number only when you sign in to see the full detail of a property or a comparison.
When you sign in and use the site, we hold:

We do not collect the prices of properties from you, and we do not show prices to anyone who uses the site. Where we match a property to your budget, that is done privately, by broad price band rather than exact price, and only the matching properties are returned.
We use our own cookies and your browser’s storage. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies from anyone else.

A browser that sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal gets neither pc_vid nor pc_sid.
The property page can show a Google map. When it does, your browser asks Google for the map, so Google receives your IP address, browser details and the address of the page, and may set its own cookies. That is Google’s processing, under Google’s own policy.
We record what happens on the site so we can see which pages and comparisons are used. Each record holds the kind of action (for example, a property viewed, a property added to a comparison, a section opened, a unit type switched to, a property saved, an enquiry sent, a search finished), whether you were signed in (never who you are), the property or properties involved, whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer, any campaign tags and the website you came from, and the coarse budget band.
A record never holds your name, phone number, email, account number, IP address, exact budget, a price, or anything you typed.
Two ways a browser is recorded. Normally a random number in pc_vid ties a browser’s records together; it is not linked to your account. A browser that sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal is recorded without any number, so nothing links its records to each other.
How long. Records are tied to a browser for up to 13 months. After that we count them into monthly totals and remove the browser number, and keep the record as an anonymous one.
Who sees it. Our administrators can see the records, including the history of one browser by its random number. That history has no name or phone number, but an administrator who also handles enquiries could in principle match the time of an enquiry to a browser’s history. Access is limited to administrators. Developers never see records. They see only summary figures about their own properties, and only when at least five different people are behind a figure.
A property’s sales site may display a printed code. If you scan it, sign in with your phone number and rate the property or your visit, your review is shown on PropCompare as soon as you send it.
You can ask us to:
Write to [To be confirmed: privacy request email address] from the phone number on your account, or tell us the number so we can check it is yours. There is no self-service button for these requests yet, so we deal with each one by hand. When we erase an account, the saves, unlocks and enquiries tied to it are removed and the links on saved comparisons and search answers are cleared. We will tell you if we are required to keep something, and why.
The site is for people who can enter a contract to buy a home. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you and the regulator as the law requires.
Your information is stored and processed in Mumbai, India (the server and database).
We will change this page when what we collect or do changes, and show the date it took effect: [To be confirmed: effective date]. If a change matters to you we will tell you when you next sign in.
